Tragedy
My Banjo broke.
I was having a great practice session with
pmaxgentry and our resident jazz bassist...and I was on my way to turn off or on the stereo..and I slipped...and fell...and my banjo neck broke...and I smacked my lip.
Replacing it would cost in between $3k and $6k. So...I got the name and number of a banjo luthier...hopefully it can be repaired.
My baby is hurt.

if you want, check out the stewart macdonald catalog and you can see all the replacement parts they have available for banjos--not that you should do the work, but to see all the neat stuff they can fix your banjo with.
i had a 1880 guitar with a huuuuge crack in it and a nice luthier fixed it up for me and she plays all nicely again.
i love good luthiers.

If that were my viola, I think I'd be in the middle of a full-blown panic attack by now.
