[livejournal.com profile] varanus is back in town! What does this mean? Strange conversations that cause me to do some research online.

Anyhoo, varanus asked me if the Xbox actually had any happy puppy rainbow games. I said, yeah, but I didn't have any specifics to name. Now, I have specifics! In light of all the Hot Coffee and the Manhunt and the Halo, I turn to something completely different.

And so I lay upon you all, the happiest, puppiest, rainbowiest titles I can imagine for the Xbox. Mind you, I've never played any of these games...but they seem pretty happy puppy...and they are all rated E for everyone and have no naughty descriptors.

1. Barbie Wild Horse Rescue
2. Hello Kitty Roller Rescue
3. Disney's Extreme Skate Adventure
4. Dr. Seuss' Cat in the Hat
5. Finding Nemo
6. Harry Poter Quiddich World Cup
7. Scooby Doo Mystery Mayhem
8. Super Bubble Pop
9. Zoo Keeper
10. Animaniacs: The Great Edgar Hunt

Well, now that we've shared the happy and the puppy...I though I'd do something completely different. I will now present another list, also in honor of Hot Coffee. I decided to look up which games are listed as AO, besides GTA: San Andreas, that is. Here are the 10 hot coffeeist titles. And again, I've not played them...but they seem pretty hot coffee, and they are rated AO, adults only, and have lots of naughty descriptors.

1. All Nude Cyber
2. All Nude Glamour
3. WET - The Sexy Empire
4. Water Closet: The Forbidden Chamber
5. All Nude Nikki
6. Body Language
7. Singles
8. Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude Uncut and Uncensored
9. X-Change
10. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

I do own GTA:San Andreas...but I haven't played it yet...won't be able to start until after I put together the syllabus for this class and I write this Billy Tipton Article!

One wonders why Leisure Suit Larry was unable to achieve summa cum laude status. Perhaps too much philandering? Is there such a thing?

Or is it just that the game's creators are unaware of the magna/summa hierarchy?

Maybe they wanted to save the title for a sequel?
2004: Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude
2006: Leisure Suit Larry: Summa Cum Laude
2007: Leisure Suit Larry: J.D. With Distinction
2009: Leisure Suit Larry, D.D.S.
2010: Leisure Suit Larry, C.P.A.

Bwah! Do these actually exist? (I'm trying to imagine barbie's wild horse rescue. possibly I shouldn't try.)

I've never played GTA in any form. Is it as good as it's supposed to be?

Yeap, they actually exist.

Apparently, Barbie must save and raise "baby horses" that have accidently wandered out into the picturesque wilderness, although the toughest question is still: what will she wear?

Actually, the subject matter of the game is surprisingly dark. I can't believe it wasn't rated at least M, given all the sexual themes.
[Edit: I'm a dumbass]

Having actually played this (look, I babysit) I can tell you that it's totally possible to dress Barbie as a crazy S&M goth space hooker and then have her gambol off into the fields to rescue baby horses. It adds a whole new dimension to the game.

Why do I have an insane urge to try and throw an xbox equivalent of a LAN party and have all of these games there?

I've been doing research mostly...I've got a couple more things to read, then I can start writing...though now I have to wait until after I get this syllabus together. The class I'm teaching starts on Tuesday. Hm.
