It's All About Nikki

trooper6I travelled into school yesterday, and indeed I made it there before my professor. Turns out that he won't be in until Sep. 1. So I got quite a bit of work done, and I got to see a few of my professors. It was good hanging out in the department. Griffen and I are starting the apartment search...I hope it goes well. I told him that refused to go higher than $650 a month no matter what. And he's really got his heart set on the nice (i.e. expensive) parts of Santa Monica. We'll see what happens. I just don't make enough money as a poor student with debts to spend $700 plus $65 for a storage space a month on rent. Not when you only earn $14k a year before taxes.
I have a lead on a temp job. No extra work has come up recently.
American Idol: So there I was watching American Idol tonight. How cool is it that Nikki McKibbin sang Melissa Etheridge tonight? I love Nikki McKibbin. I rarely have celebrity crushes, I find most famous people aren't my type, but I certainly have a celebrity crush on our girl Nikki McKibbin. I wonder if she'll make it through another round? It would be too fabulous if she did. But I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't make it. But I hope she does. I really loved her rendition of Hard Hearted Hannah.
I wasn't super productive today. I spent most of it doing computer maintenance. I did work out, but I didn't do any reading. Perhaps I'll be more productive tomorrow, though I'm sceptical consicering that I'll be spending so much time on public transportation going to and from school tomorrow. I'm going in to school tomorrow so Griffin can show me this apartment he loves--that costs $1495 a month! We'll see.
I think it's great that Elvis has got a number 1 hit in England right now. He just overtook the Beatles for the most #1's in the U.K. Take that all you folks who diss Elvis while calling The Beatles the single best music group in the history of the world!
I want to go out swing dancing again. Maybe I'll go out Friday night to The Derby. Of course I have no money. So I probably shouldn't do frivolous things like going out. Oh, hey, D&D on Friday, let's see that goes. I'll update y'all. I've started reading the GURPS: Transhuman Space book. I like it. I could see a great campaign starting on Mars.
