Here's the funny thing. I am more liberal than I conceive of myself. Let me be specific. When I'm in a room all alone, I feel pretty liberal. Then I hang out with people who are really liberal, and I don't feel so liberal anymore. I feel somewhere between liberal and moderate...sometimes I feel moderate. But I think that is mainly alienation from middle-class liberals. I think I'm a working-class liberal and that that is different from middle-class liberalism. I'm going to think on this some more.

So I was off at the AMS (American Musicological Society) conference these last few days. It was good. I got very little sleep. There's a lot more to talk about, but I am completely knackered. So, I'm going to bed and I'm going to update later.
