Well, I'm in a good mood.
I spoke to the Professor who absolutely terrible comments on one of my papers. She really liked my paper...go figure. She doesn't think I need to do really heavy revisions either. Don't ask me. Any, but upside is a) I don't have to do heavy revisions and I can turn it in with my Masters Exams, and b) I now have no worries about putting her on my Dissertation committee--I just have to know that she sometimes goes overboard on her commentary.

I have a date for my hysto. June 23. Of course, I don't know yet if insurance will cover it, nor how much my co-pay will be...but the doctor's office will take of that. Wish me luck!

So, as I said, I'm in a good mood...mind you this has something to do with the fact that I'm vigorously ignoring the fact that my Master's Exams are next weekend! Arrrgh!

Sadly, I didn't get the Summer Research Mentorship I applied for, so I won't be able to work on my k.d. lang trans paper like I wanted to...instead I'll be working full time...somewhere. I'll hit the temp agencies and see if one of them will take me. I think I'll end up being pretty busy over the summer. I really hope I can use the summer to catch up on academic reading, practicing my three instruments (banjo, lute, and MAX/MSP), as well as doing lots of SCA stuff--dance practing, costuming, LOTS of fencing!

Just to add some quick thoughts.

Last night I was downloading lots of MP3's from the 20's and 30's. I've also been looking at Victorian clothing web sites a lot of late. I really want to get back into Victorian ballroom dancing. But here's my real question...while it's clear that I can't walk around in Renaissance clothing in everday life...do y'all think I could get away with wearing clothing from 1870s-1920's on a daily basis? Men's clothing doesn't change all that much...it would be antiquated...but maybe still hip. I mean, I really need to live my life wearing detachable collars and watches on chains!
