Hit me with your best shot...
Oct. 26th, 2002 03:32 pmSo, I just injected myself with T for the first time. I did okay. I think I could have been a bit better, but practice makes perfect I imagine. I did it in the butt. My butt hurts a bit, but I did tense up a bit. I don't know if I pulled back on the plunger enough to check that I didn't hit a vein. I'll have to be a bit more proactive on that front next time. Also, I paused in the middle, and I won't do that next time either. But I did it, and it wasn't bad. I hope I got the right part of my butt. But I think so. I'll go confirm with my Dr. when I see her again. (She talked me through it twice, but she wasn't actually there when I did it.)
Anyway, I watched the opera "Lady Macbeth of Mtensk" Friday night. It was good, sort of depressing, but I imagined a secret lesbian happy ending, so I'm feeling fine.
I just got the huge stack of writing assignments from my students Friday. I'm going to be a paper correcting individual...plus I've got so much reading to do it's not even funny. I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the work I have to do. Mixed blessing: I'm learning how to play the lute. I've always wanted to, but never had the chance, and now, for the Rennaissance performance practice course I'm sitting in on, I get to learn from this really cool professor...of course, when will I ever get the time to practice? But I SO want to learn how to play monody on the theorbo!
I'm really broke!
Tonight is a house warming/birthday party that my roommate is throwing. I'm not really stoked, but I'll be a gracious host nonetheless. Personally, I'd prefer to just to go to school and study. Instead I have to clean up my place to it's presentable. Sigh.
I'm really going to have to quit one of my D&D games. The big question is how do I break it to my DM. Sigh.
I got the newer Olivia Newton-John CD, it's country and too excellent. I've also been watching the Colby's and that's excellent too--what a juicy show that was. I've also started working out again. Let's see if I can do a whole 8-wk cycle, without missing a work out. I'm doing a heavy cycle--heavy weights, low reps. I'm also going to try to add a buch of cardio--I need to lose some of my gut.
I just got a letter from Mills. They are finally getting around to getting me info about being an Alumni Rep. But now I'm not sure if I should...I mean, after all, I'm a big ole' man right now...should I really be the one talking to prospective students about the wonders of a women's college? Sigh.
Anyway, I've got to shower and clean up for the party.
